Wristband Sensor Platform (WSP)

Wristband Sensor Platform, pilot-independent platform for on-body sensor data acquisition

Specifications:

  • Inertial sensor (XSense)
  • Ultra-sonic receiver (Hexamite)
  • RFID-Reader (cavitec) incl. antenna
  • Force sensitive resistors (grasp-detection)
  • Microphone (sound acquisition)

It will be connected to a host using a wireless ZigBee connection. The CRN Toolbox reads out the sensor data from the WSP.
All modules within the WSP are powered using a single central battery package. The modules will be removable and the device should be washable after removing the modules. We aim at having the power and data connections between the modules in a textile fashion.

Use in wearIT@work project

It is planned to use the WSP for different pilot applications in the project, most probably Skoda, EADS and gespag.

Status

The WSP is currently under development. It is planned to have a first prototype ready in October 2006.
