Beacon Ejector

Sort Description

The beacon ejector is the device for the LifeNet-scenario that is supposed to contain and deploy the sensor nodes (so called sensor beacons). The beacon ejector has been developed to be attached directly to the breathing apparatus of the firemen. The beacon ejector consists of a magazine (upper part) containing the sensor beacons before ejection and the ejection mechanism (bottom part). Since the apparatus renders its function automatically in conjunction with the fire fighters’ activities it qualifies as a wearable device. This device is controlled by the central wearable computing device carried by the fire fighters, which allows a software-initiated drop out of the beacons.

Status

Hardware and low-level software is developed and validated on experimental level. Maturity can not reach a higher level, before sensor-node-electronics will be decreased to minor dimensions.
