Motion Jacket
Technology Name and one line description
Robust Working Jacket for Upper Body Motion Capturing
Technology Type
Hardware Devices and Wearable Systems
Short Description
Based on 7 distributed MTx modules from XSens the Motion Jacket is able to capture the upper body motion, e.g. of workers during maintenance work. 5 MTx modules are integrated into the jacket aligned with lower arms, upper arms and the torso. For the integration, a layered approach with inner sleeves has been used. In addtition, two modules are attached to gloves to capture the hand motion.
Use in wearIT@work Project
The Motion Jacket has been used in field experiments at Skoda within the checkpoint scenario for data acquisition.

Status
The hardware of the Motion Jacket is reasonably robust as has been proven with the data recordings at Skoda including real assembly line workers.
